Account & Sign-in

Go to the sign-in page and choose a sign-in method:

  • Sign in with Google. Redirects you through your Google account and returns you to the app.
  • Sign in with LinkedIn. Redirects you through LinkedIn and returns you to the app.
  • Email and password. Enter your work email and password, then click Sign in.

If you arrived at the sign-in page through a deep link, for example an alert link, you return to that page automatically after you sign in.

You create an account from the sign-up page. In demo environments you can also create one as part of the onboarding flow. The “Sign up” link on the sign-in page opens the sign-up page. Both offer Google, LinkedIn, and email-and-password sign-up with the same six-digit email verification step. On the sign-up page the Google and LinkedIn buttons read Continue with Google and Continue with LinkedIn. Google One Tap is also available on the sign-in page, the sign-up page, and the account step during onboarding, if you are signed into a Google account in your browser.

To sign up with email and password:

  1. Enter your first name, last name, work email, and a password of at least 8 characters. Use the eye icon to show or hide the password.
  2. Click Create account. A six-digit verification code is sent to your email address.
  3. Enter the code and click Verify email to complete sign-up.

If the code does not arrive, expires, or you enter it incorrectly too many times, click Resend code to request a new one. Verification codes expire 15 minutes after they are sent. During onboarding sign-up, when you continue you confirm that you agree to the import.io Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy.

In some cases your account is set up for you directly rather than through self-service sign-up, for example when Aperture sets up a new organization on your behalf. Instead of an invitation, you receive an activation link.

  1. Open the activation link. It shows the email address the account was created for and the name of the organization you are joining.
  2. Choose a password of at least 8 characters.
  3. Click Activate account.

After you activate, you are signed in immediately and land on the Select Workspace screen described below. There you can pick the workspace that was set up for you. If none exists yet, the screen tells you that you have no workspaces yet and to ask an organization admin to add you to one.

When an organization admin invites you by email, you receive an invitation email. The email names the organization. It links to the general sign-in flow rather than to a private, one-time link.

  1. Sign in or create an account with the email address the invitation was sent to. Any supported method works: Google, LinkedIn, or email and password. The sign-in and sign-up pages show a “You have been invited” notice to remind you to use that address.
  2. After you sign in, you are taken to a Review invitations page. It lists every organization that has invited you, who invited you, and when the invitation expires.
  3. Click Accept to join an organization, or Decline to remove the invitation. If you have no active workspace yet, you resolve all of your pending invitations here before you move on. If you already have a workspace, you can click Decide later and come back to the invitations from the notice on the Select Workspace screen or from the Organizations list.

If you are already signed in, you can also find any pending invitations from the Organizations list. If you already have a workspace to open, the Select Workspace screen also shows a notice such as “You have 1 pending invitation” with a Review button. See Setting Up Your Organization and Inviting Your Team for a complete walkthrough of the invitation lifecycle.

If you have only one active workspace, or you have used a workspace before in this browser, Aperture opens it automatically and you go straight into the app. Otherwise, for example when you have several workspaces and are signing in on a new browser, you land on the Select Workspace screen after you sign in, before you enter the app. Each option shows the workspace name, the organization it belongs to, and the date it was created. A badge shows its type, Brand or Retailer. If you have admin access to a workspace, an Admin access badge also appears. If a workspace is still being set up, the option also shows an Activating status badge.

Click the workspace you want to open. If you arrived through a deep link, you return to your original destination once the workspace is active. If the workspace cannot be activated, the screen shows an error and you can try again. Clicking a workspace that is still being set up takes you back to the onboarding progress screen instead.

If you have pending invitations but no active workspace, Aperture sends you to the Review invitations page before this screen.

The screen also shows which email you are signed in as, along with a Log out link.

If a workspace address does not exist, is not active, or you do not have access to it, a “Workspace unavailable” page appears with a Select a workspace link back to this screen.

Aperture shows two perspectives of the same data, retailer and brand. The perspective changes which pages appear in the navigation and how data is presented. The active perspective is part of the URL, for example /retailer/… or /brand/….

When perspective switching is enabled for your account, a Retailer / Brand toggle appears in the header toolbar. The Dashboard and other pages adapt immediately to show the view relevant to the selected perspective.

Open the user menu by clicking your avatar in the top-right corner of the header and choose Settings. The Personal information page opens.

The Profile details section shows your name and email address, and your avatar if one is set. This information comes from the details you signed up with, or from your Google or LinkedIn profile if you signed in with a provider. The section is read-only.

The Danger Zone section contains the Delete Account action.

To delete your account:

  1. Click Delete Account.
  2. Read the confirmation dialog and click Delete Account again to confirm. Click Cancel to keep your account.

After deletion you are signed out and returned to the sign-in page.

When your session expires, a dialog tells you that your session has expired. Click Sign in again to sign out and return to the sign-in page.
