MAP Price Configuration

MAP Price Configuration is the brand-side tool for authoring minimum advertised prices. The system uses these prices as the reference for all MAP violation detection. The tool lives in the Governance section and is only visible from the brand perspective.

The main table lists every product in your brand’s catalog, one row per product. Each row shows the current MAP price with identity and status information.

The table has these columns.

ColumnWhat it shows
ProductProduct name, linked to Product Detail, with EAN below when available
BrandThe product’s brand
MAP PriceThe price and currency of the product’s displayed MAP record, see the note below
Effective DateThe effective date of that same displayed MAP record
StatusThe derived MAP Price Status, see below
SourceHow the price was set: Manual or Csv Import
ActionsPer-row actions button, shown as ⋯

The table is paginated at 10 products per page. A footer shows the range on screen, for example “Showing 1-10 of 240 products”, next to the page links.

Above the table, a filter card holds a Search box on the left and a Status control beside it with six chips:

  • All. The default view.
  • With MAP Price. Products that have any MAP price, whether Active, Scheduled, or Expired.
  • No MAP Price. Products with no MAP price record at all.
  • Active. Current, in-window prices only.
  • Scheduled. Prices whose effective date is still in the future.
  • Expired. Products whose only MAP records have passed their expiration date.

The Search box matches product name, EAN, or brand. The search is debounced and syncs to the URL, so you can share or bookmark filtered views. While a search or status filter is active, removable filter pills appear below the card. Remove a pill to clear that filter.

Each product row carries one of four statuses:

StatusMeaning
ActiveA MAP price exists and its effective window includes today
ScheduledA MAP price exists but its effective date is still in the future
ExpiredMAP price records exist but all have passed their expiration date
No MAP PriceNo MAP price record exists for this product, either because none was ever configured or because it was deleted entirely

A product can have at most one non-expired MAP price at a time, that is one Active or Scheduled price.

Open the ⋯ actions button for any product with status No MAP Price or Expired, that is any product that does not currently have a MAP price in effect, and choose Add MAP Price. The dialog contains these fields:

  • Price. A positive number. Required.
  • Currency. One of EUR, GBP, SEK, NOK, DKK, CHF, USD. Defaults to the currency the product is most commonly sold at across its listings. If none of its listings use a supported currency, the default falls back to the currency of the product’s previous, expired MAP price when there is one, and otherwise to EUR.
  • Effective date. The date the MAP price comes into force. Defaults to today if left blank. Back-dating is allowed, which is useful when you record historic MAP prices during onboarding.
  • Expiration date. Optional. If set, it must be after the effective date. Leave blank for an open-ended price.
  • Notes. Optional free-text notes about the price.

Click Add MAP Price to save. Adding a price immediately re-runs violation detection for the product against its current offers, and re-evaluates any enabled alert rules.

You cannot add a price when a non-expired one already exists. Use Change MAP Price instead.

Open the action menu for any Active or Scheduled product and choose Change MAP Price. The dialog pre-fills with the current price, currency, dates, and notes. Edit any field and click Save Changes.

Unchanged optional fields, that is effective date, expiration date, and notes, carry forward from the existing row. Editing only the price does not reset the dates. As with adding, violation detection and alert re-evaluation run immediately after saving.

Open the action menu for a product that has a current MAP price and choose Delete MAP Price. The dialog options depend on the row’s status.

For Active rows, choose one of two options:

  • Set end date. Shortens the price window by setting an expiration date. The date picker floors at the later of today and the price’s own effective date, so you cannot back-date the end. Use this to let the price expire on a known future date while keeping the historical record.
  • Delete entirely. Hard-deletes the MAP price record. Use this to remove the price rule completely.

For Scheduled rows, only Delete entirely is available, because a price that has not yet started has no meaningful window to shorten.

After deletion, violation detection re-runs for the product. It automatically resolves any open violations that no longer have a MAP price to compare against.

The Upload MAP prices button, at the top-right of the MAP Configuration page, opens a three-step wizard for importing MAP prices in bulk.

  1. Click Download Template to export your product catalog as a pre-populated CSV. The template includes a row for every product in your catalog, with the context columns EAN, product name, and brand pre-filled so you can identify each row, and a clickable link to the product detail page. For products that already have a current MAP price, the map_price and currency columns are pre-filled from that price. For products without one, map_price is left blank and currency is pre-filled with the suggested currency when one is known. An unedited round-trip of the template therefore produces no changes. Only cells you edit change anything.
  2. Adjust the MAP price and currency for each product you want to set or change. Blanking a pre-filled map_price clears that product’s current MAP price.
  3. Save the file and upload it. Drag and drop it onto the drop zone or click to browse. The wizard accepts only .csv files and validates the file immediately on upload.

The file must contain the columns product_id, map_price, and currency. The wizard ignores extra or reordered columns.

After validation, a summary and a per-row diff table appear. The table lists every row that changes something plus every error row. Unchanged rows are counted but left off the table. A row is unchanged when its price and currency already match the current MAP, or when its price cell is blank for a product that has no current MAP price. If no row changes anything and none has an error, the page shows “No changes to apply” instead of a table. An unedited template re-upload ends here.

The review is kept while you leave the page in the same tab, for example to open a product from the table. When you return to the wizard, it resumes at this step.

The summary box names the uploaded file, then lists up to four items, each shown only when its count is greater than zero except for the first:

  • Products matched counts the rows that were recognised and have no errors. A recognised product with an invalid price or currency is counted under errors, not as matched. This item always shows.
  • Products unchanged counts the rows that need no change. The wizard ignores these rows on apply.
  • Products with a changed MAP price counts Add, Change, and Remove rows combined.
  • Products with errors counts the rows that will be skipped, described below.

The diff table gives each row one of these statuses.

StatusWhat happened
AddThe product had no current MAP price; this row sets one
ChangeThe product had a current MAP price; this row updates it
RemoveThe price cell was left blank; the current MAP price will be cleared
ErrorThe row could not be applied. Causes are product not found, invalid price, unsupported currency, or a duplicate in the file

If there are error rows, a Download failed rows button exports only those rows, so you can fix them and re-upload.

Remove rows need a clear policy. If the upload contains any Remove rows, that is rows with a blank price for a product that has a current MAP price, you must choose how to handle them before you can apply:

  • Delete the MAP price entirely. Hard-deletes the current MAP price.
  • Set end date. Shortens the window to the date you pick. The chosen date must be today or in the future.

The choice applies to all Remove rows in the file.

The summary line at the bottom of the page states what will happen, for example “Apply 12 prices and remove 3 prices. 2 rows will be skipped.” When everything looks correct, click Apply changes to proceed.

After applying, the wizard shows a success banner with four counters:

  • Added. Newly created MAP prices.
  • Updated. Prices that replaced an existing MAP price.
  • Removed or End-dated. Prices cleared by the chosen clear policy.
  • Unchanged. Rows that changed nothing. These are rows whose price and currency already matched the current MAP price, plus blank-price rows for products that have no current MAP price.

Below the banner, two cards summarise what the import changed.

MAP violations card. If the upload created new MAP violations, the card shows how many. When more than one retailer is involved, it also shows across how many retailers. The card lists any existing violations that the price changes resolved, and shows the largest new violation with its product, retailer, observed price versus MAP price, and percentage below MAP. A View MAP violations button opens the MAP Violations page sorted newest-first. If the upload created no new violations, the card instead shows a clean-state message with no button, and still lists any resolved violations if there were any.

Alert rule card. Shows the current state of your MAP-violation alert rule:

  • If no alert rule exists, the card lets you create one inline. Select the org members or email addresses who should receive notifications, then click Create alert rule. You are pre-selected as a recipient, and you can remove yourself. The button stays disabled until at least one recipient is selected. The rule is scoped company-wide and monitors all products. It fires only for violations detected after this upload. Pre-existing violations do not trigger a notification. Email delivery is enabled by default.
  • If an alert rule already exists and is enabled, the card names who is notified and offers a link to edit the rule. If you have more than one rule, the link manages rules instead. The card reports how many alerts this upload triggered only when the upload fired alerts. Otherwise it confirms that alerting is active.
  • If an alert rule exists but is disabled, the card says so and offers the same edit or manage link.

If the wizard could not apply some rows from your file, a Some rows were skipped panel lists each one with its product ID and the reason it was skipped. The row number shown is the row’s position among the priced rows that were applied, not its line in your CSV, and rows that were clearing a price show as Row 0.

From the Take action step you can click Back to MAP Configuration to return to the MAP Configuration page or click Upload another file to start a new import.
