Prices
The Prices page shows a matrix of products and their current prices across every tracked competitor or retailer, in one scrollable grid. The view depends on your perspective.
Two views of the same matrix
Section titled “Two views of the same matrix”Retailer perspective. The page shows the Price Matrix. Rows are products. Columns are your own store, labelled “Your Price”, and each tracked competitor. Each cell shows the price that retailer currently lists for that product.
Brand perspective. The page shows the MAP Price Matrix. Rows are products. The first data column shows the MAP price for each product. One column per tracked retailer follows, and your own store appears as a regular column alongside the others. The cell colour shows MAP compliance instead of competitive position.
Reading the retailer matrix
Section titled “Reading the retailer matrix”The colour of each competitor price cell compares that price with your own price:
| Colour | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Green | Competitor price is lower than yours |
| Yellow | Competitor price is inline, within ±1% of yours |
| Red | Competitor price is higher than yours |
Your own price in the “Your Price” column has no comparison colour. It appears in a plain pill.
A competitor with no listing for the product shows a dash (—), not a coloured pill. The legend at the top of the table labels the dash “Not listed”. A pill with a dashed border appears when the price can’t be compared: your own price is missing for that product, or the two prices are in different currencies. The legend labels this swatch “No comparison”, and hovering the pill shows which of the two reasons applies.
Exact + Equivalent matching
Section titled “Exact + Equivalent matching”Above the retailer matrix, a toggle switches between two comparison modes:
- Exact only, the default. A competitor cell shows a price only when that competitor carries the identical, exactly-matched product.
- Exact + Equivalent. When a competitor has no exact match for a product, the cell shows the price from that product’s Equivalent Match instead of staying empty. Cells filled this way show a ≈ before the price. Hover the cell and a note says the comparison is approximate and based on an Equivalent Match, not an exact match.
If no product in your catalog has an Equivalent Match configured yet, the toggle is disabled and a tooltip points you to Market Benchmarks to set one up. The active mode also changes which competitor prices count toward the Price position filter below, so a product’s bucket can change when you switch modes. The toggle is only available in the retailer perspective. The brand MAP Price Matrix always compares exact matches.
Reading the brand matrix
Section titled “Reading the brand matrix”The colour of each retailer cell shows MAP compliance:
| Colour | Status | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| Green | Above MAP | Retailer price is above MAP, which is compliant |
| Yellow | At MAP | Within the acceptable ±1% range |
| Red | Below MAP | Retailer price is below MAP, a MAP violation |
| Gray | No MAP policy | No MAP price currently applies to this retailer for this product |
The MAP Price column shows the configured MAP value for each product. This column is not sortable. Products without a MAP price show a dash. A retailer with no price for a product also shows a dash instead of a pill.
Promotion display in cells
Section titled “Promotion display in cells”When a product is on sale or has promotional pricing, price cells in the retailer matrix, including the “Your Price” column, expand to show more detail:
- Strikethrough price. The original compare-at price, shown above the current price.
- Sale price. The current selling price, in bold.
- Discount label or promo text. A short label shown beneath the price, for example “20% off” or “Summer Sale”. If a cell has both, the discount label is shown.
Cells without promotional data show a plain rounded price pill. The brand MAP Price Matrix shows plain MAP-coloured pills without promotion detail.
Filters
Section titled “Filters”Both perspectives share a filter bar above the matrix. Active filters appear as removable pills below the bar. Click the × on a pill to remove that one filter, or click Clear all to reset every filter at once.
Retailer perspective filters
Section titled “Retailer perspective filters”| Filter | What it does |
|---|---|
| Search | Narrows rows by product name, brand, product ID, SKU or GTIN. Matching on name and brand tolerates typos |
| Brand | Shows only products from the selected brands |
| Category | Shows only products in the selected category. Supports the full category tree picker |
| Competitors | Hides columns for unselected competitors, which helps when many are tracked. Selecting competitors also limits the Price position filter to them |
| Price position | Shows only rows that match the selected price-position buckets |
| Assortment, via Add filter | Scopes rows to All Products, My Products, Exclusives, Common, or Competitor Only. This is the same scoping as on the Products page |
Price position buckets compare your price with the average price of your tracked competitors for that product. When you select competitors in the Competitors filter, the average uses only those competitors, and the No competitor price bucket checks only them too.
- Lower (1-10%), Lower (10-30%), Lower (30%+). The average competitor price is below yours by that margin.
- Inline (±1%). The average competitor price is effectively the same as yours.
- Higher (1-10%), Higher (10-30%), Higher (30%+). The average competitor price is above yours by that margin.
- No competitor price. No tracked competitor currently has a price for the product.
When every “Lower” bucket or every “Higher” bucket is active at once, the pill row collapses them into one group label, “Competitor prices lower” or “Competitor prices higher”.
Brand perspective filters
Section titled “Brand perspective filters”| Filter | What it does |
|---|---|
| Search | Narrows rows by product name, brand, product ID, SKU or GTIN. Matching on name and brand tolerates typos |
| Brand | Shows only products from the selected brands |
| Category | Shows only products in the selected category. Supports the full category tree picker |
| Retailers | Hides columns for unselected retailers |
| MAP Status | Shows only rows where at least one retailer has the selected compliance status: Below MAP, At MAP, Above MAP, or No MAP policy. No MAP policy matches priced cells where no MAP price applies |
Sorting
Section titled “Sorting”Click any column header to sort by that column’s price. Click again to reverse direction. Sortable columns are:
- Product, alphabetical by product name
- Your Price, in the retailer view, by your current price
- Any competitor or retailer column, by that column’s price
The URL encodes the active sort, and the sort survives a page refresh.
Navigating from the matrix
Section titled “Navigating from the matrix”- Product name. Click to open the Product Detail page for that product. The page opens on the Prices tab. A variant label, when the product has one, appears under the name.
- Price cell. Click to open an offer details dialog for that product at that retailer.
The matrix shows 10 products per page. Use the pagination controls at the bottom to move between pages.
AI assistant
Section titled “AI assistant”The AI Assistant receives a summary of the current page rather than the full matrix: your search, brand, category and price-position filters (MAP status instead of price position in the brand perspective), the competitor list, the page and total product counts, and the first six product rows of the current page. The Assortment scope and the Exact + Equivalent mode are not part of the summary. It can answer questions grounded in that summary, for example which of those products have the widest price gap, or which competitors undercut you most often. Because the summary is capped at six rows while the page can show up to ten, an answer about “everything on screen” may not account for every row.
